How to Pull a Wall Wire the Proper Way
"This is how you're supposed to pull wall wire."
There is no special kind of electrical wall wire. Rather, you’re simply running standard cable throughout a structure. However, you may be looking for help on different things. Are you referring to fish tape? This is a special little hook on the end of a tiny cable that you can feed throughout tiny areas. They usually come in 120 or 240 foot long rolls. A nice new update by Klein now includes the measurement right on the cable for ease of use.
If you’re referring to simply covering up the wires of existing devices and electronics in your house, then you’ll probably just need some sort of Panduit or Wiremold. These great little pieces are easy to install and do a great job of hiding unsightly cords. They can come in white or ivory or grey or other colors. They’re also useful for safety purposes as no one will trip on any cords so neatly hidden. This works well for speakers or huge plasma display televisions. You just plug the cord into the outlet like you normally would and put the concealing piece over it. You can use this on the baseboards or even on the ceiling depending on how far your run is.
As for the very technical aspect of pulling wire through conduit from the inside of a house, that is much more difficult. You can just do that yourself, unfortunately. It’s a very complicated and dangerous takes and you’d be much better off getting the assistance of a professional electrician first. That’s why you won’t find how to information here.
Even if you think you’re ready and you understand the difference between a 3 wire and two way switch, you are still not ready. You can just go out and start installing a hot tub. You know how they say most accidents happen at our near the home? This is part of the reason why. So it’s good to continue to educate yourself, but don’t try to cut corners at the expense of your safety.
